About
This is the file cabinet in my office. You can tell a lot about a person by what they have in their personal space, although everything you see has a deeper story, because there’s always more to a person than what’s on the surface.
By trade I am a teacher, educational materials writer, artist, and higher education student services professional. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Spanish from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Montana State University Billings in Billings, Montana. I have an interest in alternative healing modalities and completed a certificate in Polarity Therapy through Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, Arizona.
Currently, I work for Western Governors University, where I coordinate clinical and field experience placements for graduate nursing students. I’ve been in higher education student services for over 10 years, and have also worked in study abroad, financial aid, transfer credit evaluation, academic advising, and enrollment services. I’ve dedicated my career to encouraging and empowering students to succeed.
My personal interests include art, creative writing, music, foreign language and travel, gardening, and spending time in nature. I love to read hopeful stories that inspire people to envision a better future.
